I launch my blog with this fairly long post series (expected 20+ posts). I hope to write and release it gradually over the next few weeks. It might be considered of a case study discussion, how-to, educational, or tutorial type.

Getting past the first few posts, the series would go into a relatively detailed technical level with analysis, code samples in Scala, Spark, SQL, MySQL, Java, Jdbc,… The “intensity” would gradually increase as we progress. My hope is it’d be of interest to hands-on people working in our fast moving data world. These include data software engineers, data engineers, data platform/infrastructure engineers, database developers, database administrators, data architects, data scientists, data analysts,… Nevertheless, if you have the interest, engagement, and patience to follow to the end of the series, wow, let me know; hat off to you. If you understand the discussion pretty well, that means I probably have done a reasonable job of communication. Otherwise, hopefully, there are thoughts, ideas, techniques, or tidbits here and there somewhere in the posts that are helpful; or at least maybe the series would entertain you a bit in your spare time. If some of the things in here provoke your thoughts, or you’d like to discuss ideas, questions or feedback, you’re very welcome to leave comments.

Again, as mentioned, beyond the first few posts, the series goes into a relatively detailed technical level. So if you’d like to fully enjoy the journey, it’s recommended that you have some background in the technologies as mentioned earlier or something similar.

During reading, you might jump ahead to a given post for some specific piece of information of interest. But if you find yourself under some confusion, you probably want to backtrack a bit to get a better context, since usually each post is meant to build from the prior ones.
