INT. GERMAN HIGH COMMAND – DAY

Von Manstein, Walter Model – the Lion of Defense, and their aides gather around a large map of Europe, discussing their new strategy with a sense of urgency and determination.

VON MANSTEIN (resolute) Gentlemen, we must fall back to a more defensible line on the Eastern Front, including our formations from Czechoslovakia. This move will threaten the flank of the Red Army encircling Army Group Courtland.

MODEL (nodding) Agreed. We will force the Soviets to loosen their grip on Courtland, allowing our trapped forces to break out and join our defensive line.

VON MANSTEIN And we must reinforce our Western Front. Withdraw our forces from Norway, Denmark, and Italy. They will join your command, Field Marshal Model.

MODEL (determined) Understood. We will make every effort to hold our ground against the Allies.

INT. EASTERN FRONT – DAY

Under von Manstein’s command, the three Army Groups on the Eastern Front, along with formations from Czechoslovakia, fall back to a more solid and defensible line. The move threatens the flank of the Soviet forces surrounding Army Group Courtland.

COURTLAND COMMANDER, COLONEL GENERAL HEINRICH VON VIETINGHOFF (over radio) Field Marshal von Manstein, the Soviets are weakening their grip on our position. We are preparing to break out and join your line.

VON MANSTEIN (encouraging) Excellent. Make your move swiftly and join our forces. Together, we will strengthen our defense.

INT. WESTERN FRONT – DAY

Field Marshal Model, the Lion of Defense, oversees the reinforcement of the Western Front as formations from Norway, Denmark, and Italy arrive. However, the logistical challenges of such a large-scale transfer are evident. Despite these difficulties, the German war machine, once on the brink of collapse, begins to show signs of reinvigoration under the rational leadership of von Manstein and Model.

MODEL (addressing his troops) Men, you are now part of the greatest defense in history. Stand firm and fight with all your might. We will not let the enemy break through!

The entire German force, numbering between 3.5 to 4 million exhausted soldiers, finds a renewed sense of purpose under their new leadership. Despite the odds, they remain a formidable force, ready to face their enemies on both fronts.
